Welcome to Destination Cure.  We are a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a debilitating disease affecting nearly a million Americans. A prominent researcher in the field has commented that money from Destination Cure is like a speed boat allowing researchers to switch gears quickly and pursue certain areas of interest in their research vs. money granted by larger organizations which is more like a aircraft carrier - while large in size, it does not provide flexibility sometimes needed in research.  To learn more about the impact Destination Cure grants have had in the research field, click here. Major Joe Fagan at the finish line.   Created in the fall of 1998, Destination Cure - The Race Against MS, is a U.S. based non-profit organization dedicated to the long term support of research for a cure to Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  Unlike other organizations, Destination Cure focuses exclusively on research.  Destination Cure was founded to increase the resources available for research.  While we appreciate the struggles that those who are afflicted with this disease face on a daily basis, we have chosen to focus on supporting researchers that are looking for a cure. How does Destination Cure work? Simply put, Destination Cure facilitates fund raising for Multiple Sclerosis research for people who want to do something, but do not know where to start. Destination Cure has created the means, by which anyone anywhere can do anything and raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. To participate you can: compete in races or athletic events (runs, triathlons, etc.) volleyball tournaments have community functions bake sales golf tournaments office events parachuting bowl-a-thon mountain climbing dance-a-thon use your imagination - any type of event can be a fundraiser. Any neighborhood event can become an Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser if you so desire, or you can create your own. By sending the appropriate information - listed on our Volunteer page - you will receive a packet from us with all the information and materials you need to fund raise. Evelyn Wirth Guandolo IN MEMORIAM This site and this organization are dedicated to the memory of Evelyn Wirth Guandolo who lived with Multiple Sclerosis for over thirty years.
