More Events

On Monday, June 16, 2003, Destination Cure presented Dr. Stephen Waxman Chairman, Dept. of Neurology Yale University School of Medicine with a check in the amount of $50,000 to be used for research.  The event was held at the Old Ebbitt Grill  in Washington, D.C.  Special thanks to John and Ginger Laytham of the Clydes Restaurant Group for their generous support of Destination Cure.  Click here to read an update on Dr. Waxman's progress - Oct. 2003

On August 22nd, 2002, Doug Epstein, of Washington, D.C., set out to cross Death Valley in only four (4) days. The route, 104.5 miles, was brutal with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees. Doug put his body to the test in honor of his Uncle, who has MS, and his grandfather, who passed away on July 6th at age 95. On June 22nd, Jen and Krista Pruin of Ames, Iowa ran in the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota for Destination Cure. They ran in support of their own Grandmother who suffers from MS. They did a great job and worked tirelessly for the cause. Everyone at Destination Cure salutes them!!!

On September 23rd, 2001, DAN CONWAY, of Seattle, Washington, competed in THE BIG HURT, in Port Angeles, WA. The Big Hurt is a multi-sport race including mountain biking, kayaking, road biking, and running. Congrats Dan!!!!

On May 20th, MAUREEN FRARY, along with several other students at Santa Clara University in Californial ran the Bay to Breakers 12K road race for Destination Cure. Great JOB Mo !!!

On November 4th, 2000, John Guandolo (Founder of Destination Cure), David Councilor, John Kainer, Erik Lange, Mark Thomassey, Drew Kenny, Doug Perry, Will Randall, and Ken Niederberger competed in Ironman Florida, in Panama City Beach, Florida, for DESTINATION CURE.  The Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run (marathon).  One of the members of Team Destination Cure, David Councilor, has Multiple Sclerosis.  CONGRATULATIONS to Erik Lange who finished the Ironman in ten hours and qualified for Ironman Hawaii 2001.
